Ashlie Amber was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. One of four children, she and her twin brother share the title for baby of the family. She began singing at the age of six for fun, but when a tragic loss occurred in her family, she turned to singing as an outlet for her grief. She soon discovered, however, that vocal performance was her life’s calling.

During her middle school and high school years, she performed for talent shows and other live events, while still being extremely active in sports, theatre, and choir. Upon graduation, she decided to cast all fears aside and reach for the stars. She is now a member of the esteemed Actors’ Equity Association, and has been performing full time all over the world for a decade. Some of her credits include the 2012 Season of American Idol, Gary Colman (Avenue Q), The Leading Player (Pippin), Joanne Jefferson (Rent), and Luisa (The Fantasticks).

She has been nominated for multiple Henry Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for the roles of Shug Avery (The Color Purple), The Acid Queen (The Who's Tommy), and Dionne (Hair). Most recently, she has won a WATCH Award and The Frank and Dorthy Fannon Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for her portrayal as the Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot.
